SFTFA – COUNTY ASSEMBLY STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT ON CARBON PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION IN KAJIADO COUNTY.

Soils for the Future Africa (SFTFA) recently held an engaging stakeholder session with the County Assembly Committee of Environment, Water, Natural Resources, and Climate Change at Asyana Gardens. This gathering was designed as an open and interactive forum, giving the committee a thorough insight into the carbon project’s methodology, baseline assessments, and the overall framework for implementation within the county.
The session was led by the SFTFA Country Director and the Monitoring and Evaluation Director, who carefully outlined the project’s goals, technical strategies, monitoring systems, and the expected environmental and socio-economic benefits. They highlighted how the project aligns with both county and national climate change priorities, promotes sustainable land management, and enhances community livelihoods through clear and measurable carbon outcomes.
The forum provided an opportunity for committee members to ask questions, share technical insights, and engage in meaningful discussions about governance, accountability, and community involvement. This exchange not only deepened mutual understanding but also reinforced SFTFA’s dedication to transparency, inclusivity, and accountability to the communities and institutions it collaborates with across Kajiado County.
The presence of the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Environment, Water, Natural Resources, and Climate Change added significance to the event, highlighting the County Government’s commitment to collaborative climate action, environmental stewardship, and evidence-based policy implementation. Overall, this session was a crucial step in strengthening partnerships between SFTFA, county leadership, and local communities to promote sustainable and climate-resilient development initiatives.
