Community-Led Grazing
We believe that the best solutions come from within the community. Our grazing management projects are led by local committees that blend traditional knowledge with modern conservation science.
Our Approach:
Inclusive Grazing Committees: Women, youth, and elders are actively involved in managing livestock movement and pasture recovery.
Rotational Grazing Plans: We support communities to plan livestock movements that protect the land while maximizing forage.
Respect for Tradition: We build on the Maasai’s ancestral practice of seasonal grazing, strengthening rather than replacing local systems.
Science and Practice Combined: Our methods are grounded in evidence that rotational grazing significantly improves soil health and carbon sequestration.
🌾 Fun fact:
Pastoralists are among the world’s most effective stewards of grassland ecosystems when supported by good management tools.
