DIRECT ECONOMIC BENEFITS FROM THE KAJIADO RANGELAND CARBON PROJECT.

The communities participating in the Kajiado Rangeland Carbon Project are already experiencing direct economic benefits from their involvement. Each community retains full decision-making authority over how to allocate its benefits, ensuring that funding goes directly toward the priorities that matter most to them.

Education has emerged as one of the most consistent priorities across all participating communities. Many have chosen to channel their communities' contribution payments into supporting children’s schooling, reflecting a shared understanding that education is a foundation for long-term prosperity.

As of May 2025, more than 6,000 students have already benefited from community funded bursaries and school support programs made possible through the project. This demonstrates how climate solutions can directly uplift livelihoods and strengthen the future of the next generation.
